Extreme Networks recognized as a 2022 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ Leader for the fifth year in a row
In sports, recognition of an achievement, like winning a championship, often comes with delivery of a trophy and a banner raising that displays the accomplishment and year for posterity. This year, Extreme Networks has a reason to celebrate as it is again recognized as a Leader.
Gartner®, a company that delivers actionable, objective insight to executives and their teams, has recognized Extreme as a Leader in the 2022 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Enterprise Wired and Wireless LAN Infrastructure for the fifth year in a row.
This is significant because it is based on an evaluation of industry networking vendors’ competency across two dimensions: the completeness of their vision and their ability to execute. Those organizations that demonstrate strong capabilities in both are positioned onto 4 different quadrants.
We believe key drivers of Extreme’s continued momentum are a focus on innovation, openness, flexibility and its unique technology capabilities that include a digital twin networking solution.
It all starts with a vision for the enterprise, the ability to feel the winds of change blow and to chart a course for a destination beyond the horizon. Then, that vision must be shared and adopted by partners, collaborators and most importantly, customers. Finally, the vision holder must set out and go there.
In the midst of the pandemic, it became abundantly clear that we’d reached a point of no return. Our lives were forever changed, and so, too, were the technologies we used and the networks they connected to.
Extreme had a vision to take the industry on a journey to become Infinite Enterprises. A state where networks were infinitely distributed, reaching across geographies, from the headquarters and the data center, all the way to the branch of one, a person working from home or on a mobile device. This expanding network footprint needed to be managed at scale, which is only possible through the cloud, using tools that can be accessed anytime, anywhere, and on any device. Through that cloud and across that network, technology must enable an experience that is consumer-centric in nature, revolving around the individual, anticipating and providing for their ever-changing needs.
Along this journey, we discovered that our customers were coming with us, by the multitudes.
As a result of the pandemic, digital transformation projects that had previously taken years to implement were being completed in weeks or months. The migration to remote work produced gaps that needed to be closed as quickly as possible. In this fever to reach the next normal, clear objectives for sustainable competitive advantages arose.
Bayerische Zugspitzbahn provides transportation and hospitality services for the Zugspitze, the tallest mountain in Germany, ranging from sightseeing to world-class skiing and other mountaintop attractions. Resiliency and reliability is important to Bayerische Zugspitzbahn because downtime means ticketing, hospitality, and other critical functions cease, leaving customers stranded, ruining the guest experience.
By partnering with Extreme, Bayerische Zugspitzbahn is delivering stable, secure connectivity for all of its services, while benefiting from simplified management and network automation.
These new ways of working started producing better business outcomes.
The Wisconsin Center District is a convention, meeting, and event space in Milwaukee that has three diverse facility types including an exhibit hall, a sports arena, and a theatre. In order to remain competitive within their industry, the WCD looked into ways that technology could help them differentiate themselves from other venues. As a result, IT transformed itself into a profit center, driving new revenue streams while increasing efficiency, lowering risk and improving the experience for visitors every day.
This became Extreme’s purpose, which fostered a mission to create insightful and innovative approaches to connect people, applications and devices, giving customers the means to find even more ways to drive better outcomes.
For the past five years, Extreme Networks has been recognized as a Customers’ Choice winner by Gartner® based solely on customer reviews across multiple industries, multiple geographies and from organizations ranging from small and mid-sized businesses to global organizations.
Seeing is believing. Listen to customers from all over the world demonstrate how modernizing their networks and gaining visibility and control over them all created the recipes they needed to find new ways to produce the better outcomes they sought.
The network keeps the world informed, functioning and advancing. It has become the invisible connective tissue of our society, and as the humanity grows, the network matches that growth in scale, delivering better ways to live, interact, educate and work. Extreme believes this this fifth Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ recognition as a Leader in the Enterprise Wired and Wireless LAN Infrastructure networking category is a clear sign that our dedication to creating new ways to drive better outcomes is progress in the right direction.
